The “Watch & Wait” Is Over

Tooth Decay doesn’t begin with a hole.

Dental caries begins with mineral loss below the enamel surface. When detected early—before cavitation–there is an opportunity to intervene without removing healthy tooth structure.

There’s a window before a cavity becomes a hole.

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ was designed specifically for this window.

Mechanism of Action

Targeted mineral delivery to enamel lesions and exposed dentin

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ mineral-loaded starch particle
Targeted Mineral Delivery

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ uses GreenMark's proprietary mineral-loaded starch particle technology to deliver bioavailable calcium, phosphate and fluoride ions directly to areas of demineralized enamel.

Submicron particles are designed to enter beneath the tooth surface, deep into the microscopic porosities within early caries lesions. Degradation by salivary amylase enzymes releases their bioactive mineral cargo to support formation of new tooth mineral within the lesion.

Three-Stage Mechanism

01

Target

Submicron mineral-loaded particles are designed to access microscopic porosities within early caries lesions and areas of enamel demineralization.

02

Deliver

Salivary amylase enzymes degrade the starch-based particles, releasing bioavailable calcium, phosphate and fluoride ions within the affected area.

03

Restore

The released mineral components support formation of hydroxyapatite and fluorapatite, new tooth mineral within the lesion, helping restore mineral structure where demineralization has occurred.

Key Differentiator for Clinicians

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ does not contain pre-formed, non-reactive mineral crystals that only act superficially. Instead, it targets deep into early caries and delivers bioactive mineral ions that generate new hydroxyapatite crystals throughout the lesion depth.

It is a new and fundamentally different approach.

Remineralization of Natural Caries Lesions

20-Day study with acid cycling measured by MicroCT

Average lesion depth profile showing mineralization following CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ treatment

Compared to negative/untreated and 1000 ppm fluoride controls, early caries lesions treated with CrystLCare™ dissolvable dental strips were significantly more remineralized, restoring 73% of the lesion (p<0.01).6

Average lesion depth profile showing mineralization following CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ treatment

Treatment with CrystLCare™ dissolvable strips restored mineral nearly to sound enamel throughout the entire lesion, with substantially more subsurface mineralization than fluoride control, while untreated control samples underwent continued demineralization.

“This product is actually working. So it’s definitely possible to reverse decay if it’s caught early enough. I’m so excited. It just makes me so happy that cavities can be reversed.”

“What I like about this product is that it has been shown to work even in non-ideal conditions. When a patient only brushes once per day, doesn't floss and the hygienist reports less than ideal homecare, but we still see rapid improvement, then this is a big step forward over existing products and protocols.”

Potential candidates may include patients with early tooth decay, early or incipient caries lesions, "watch" areas, white spot lesions including orthodontic white spots, and non-cavitated caries lesions, as appropriate and subject to professional diagnosis.

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ may not be appropriate for visibly broken or cavitated teeth, moderate-to-severe or spontaneous pain, pain that wakes the patient at night, or symptoms such as swelling, bleeding, draining pus, fever, or trouble swallowing or breathing. These situations should be referred for standard dental care or urgent evaluation as appropriate.

Dental professionals should also screen for any prior allergic reaction or irritation associated with ingredients in the product, including fluoride, mint/menthol, peppermint oil, stevia, glycerin, starch, or pullulan.

Fluoride varnish acts superficially on the tooth surface whereas CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ is designed to deliver bioactive enamel mineral ions into the depth of the early caries lesion where they crystalize to form fluorapatite. Fluoride is primarily indicated for the primary prevention of caries on tooth surfaces, whereas CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ treats early caries disease, thereby preventing progression to cavities (secondary prevention).

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ may be used on interproximal, occlusal, smooth, and root surfaces when appropriate for the patient's clinical needs and according to the dental professional's treatment plan.

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ is intended to support remineralization and may also help with dentin hypersensitivity by supporting mineral deposition in areas of exposed dentinal tubules.

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ can be incorporated into appropriate virtual dental care workflows where permitted by applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards. Dentulu's virtual care platform can support online patient assessments and dental professional review. Remote monitoring options may also be available for appropriate follow-up.

Practice revenue opportunities may include applicable in-office therapeutic procedures and at-home prescriptions fulfilled through the Dentulu platform. Contact your DentuluPro representative for current pricing, billing, and volume terms.

For in-office applications, practices may need to order and stock CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ through DentuluPro. For eligible at-home prescriptions, fulfillment can be handled through the Dentulu platform with the product shipped directly to the patient. Stocking requirements depend on how your practice uses the product.

Clinical protocols should be determined according to individual patient needs. CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ may be used as part of a broader remineralization strategy, but dental professionals should determine appropriate combinations with other products based on the patient’s clinical condition. For example, the use of fluoride varnishes used immediately before or after should be avoided on the affected tooth, as this in principle can interfere with the ability for CrystLCare™ products to effectively access and treat early subsurface lesions.

A brief product orientation may be available through DentuluPro. Application is designed to be straightforward, but dental professionals should follow the product's labeling, clinical instructions, and applicable professional requirements.

So-called “remineralizing” toothpastes contain calcium-based minerals designed to help clean tooth surfaces, but these minerals are not bioavailable and are largely unable to cause remineralization. They are typically too large to enter the tiny enamel porosities of early-stage (incipient) caries lesions (white spots) and lack a targeting driving force needed to access the complex labyrinth of enamel porosities within the tooth subsurface.

Superficial topical fluoride treatments, such as fluoride varnishes, are frequently used off-label for the prevention of caries and treatment of early-stage decay. Fluoride is generally understood to have a limited depth of action. Early-stage caries can extend deeper into the enamel toward the dentin-enamel junction (DEJ), indicating the limitations of traditional superficial approaches.

CrystLCare™ Regeneration+ is designed to enable the restoration of mineral density throughout the depth of an enamel lesion by delivering bioactive mineral ions into the subsurface of early caries lesions.

Hydroxyapatite consists of relatively large mineral particles that are unable to access the tooth subsurface and are not readily bioavailable for remineralization.

Nanohydroxyapatite crystals are much smaller, particularly as individual crystalline rods. However, these particles can become highly agglomerated, resulting in larger particle structures that may be too large to enter the tiny enamel porosities of early-stage (incipient) caries lesions (white spots).

Nanohydroxyapatite is also highly insoluble and lacks the targeting driving force needed to access the complex labyrinth of enamel porosities within the tooth subsurface. Unlike CrystLCare™ Regeneration+, it does not provide the same targeted approach for delivering bioactive mineral ions into early-stage enamel caries lesions.
